The term "cold-pressed" refers to the method we use to extract the liquid from our fruits + vegetables. This extraction method uses a hydraulic press to extract the juice, meaning little to no heat or oxidation is involved in the process, ensuring all enzymes and vital nutrients are kept intact. The result... the most nutritionally dense juice on the market. Cold pressed juice contains 5x the amount of vitamins, minerals and enzymes than other methods of juicing. Low levels of oxidation ensure the nutritional integrity of our juice for 4-7 days.

By contrast, more common household juicers (i.e. centrifugal juicers) use a rapid spinning metal blade to separate the juice from fruit + vegetables. The rotation of the blade creates heat and oxidation, which destroys many essential enzymes, changes the juice's chemistry and hastens its deterioration. When using centrifugal juicers, it is recommended to drink the juice within 20 minutes to receive any nutritional value.

When we make reference to everything on our menu being plant-based, we mean that they're made from plants, and plant alone. Each bottle of juice contains 3-5 lbs of fruits and/or vegetables. We believe adopting a plant-based diet is a simple and healthy way to create for yourself and for the world. We love Michael Pollan (Author of The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defence of Food)'s quote "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants."

Although we strive to use as much local and organic produce as possible, we cannot guarantee 100% local and organic produce 100% of the time. During the growing season, we use a local farmer to supply most of our fresh produce. Because of the small, independent nature of the farm, they have not gone through the certification process, but they do not use any pesticides or chemicals on their produce.

Our juice is raw, which means they have not been subjected to high temperatures. Pasteurization is a process in which food/drink is brought to a very high temperature to kill off potentially harmful bacteria and slows the microbial growth that causes things to go bad, which increases the shelf life. However, this process also kills off much of the healthy nutrients and enzymes present in raw food. Our juice is raw, with no additives or preservatives, which means to maintain freshness, quality and safety, our products must be kept refrigerated at or below 4 degrees C at all times.

Furthermore, they may not be suitable for all people. Please consult with your doctor before deciding if consuming raw, unpasteurized juice is safe for you.

We know our product is a bit pricey, but we're not trying to pull a fast one on you. We are committed to making the healthiest and highest quality products on the market. Here are a few reasons that might help explain our price: It takes anywhere from 3-5 pounds of fruits and/or vegetables to create 1 bottle of juice. Prices of fruits and vegetables fluctuate largely throughout the year. Our products are made from scratch, are rich in enzymes and nutrients, have a short shelf life and are made by hand in small batches. Juicing is labour intensive and requires a lot of planning to mitigate waste with such a short life span. Glass is much more expensive than plastic, but using glass bottles is important to us for environmental, health and quality reasons. Because price is a hindrance for some, we are constantly striving to make our products more accessible to more people. We have recently launched a line of 8oz juice bottles for half the price of the full size (16oz) bottles.

When properly refrigerated, our cold-pressed juice, nut mylks, hydrators and wellness shots last for between 4-7 days depending on their ingredients. Citrus based products have a lower pH and naturally last longer, whereas nut mylks have a higher pH and spoil faster. As mentioned above, our products are raw and unpasteurized meaning that refrigeration is essential to maintain the freshness, quality and safety of our products. They mustn't be left in a hot vehicle, on the counter, or unrefrigerated for a prolonged period of time. If products are left unrefrigerated for a prolonged period of time, they may spoil more quickly and may no longer be safe to consume. Please refer to the sticker on the bottom of the bottle for the "pressed date" - meaning the day that juice was produced on, and be sure to drink it within 4-7 days based on their ingredients.

Whether you've opened the bottle or not, our juice must be consumed within 4-7 days of it's pressed date (the date stamped on the bottom of the bottle).

We have a bottle incentive program at our Saskatoon location in which we collect clean glass bottles (without the caps), and offer $0.50 towards your next juice purchase for every bottle returned. You can bring in as many bottles as you'd like and we will put that amount x $0.50 towards your next juice purchase!

The answer to this question depends largely on the individual. We highly encourage intuitive eating and listening to what your body needs on a day to day, moment to moment basis. Some people find drinking a nutrient dense juice or nut mylk filling and a convenient meal substitute, while others may treat drinking juice as more of a snack or supplementation to their daily regime. Either way, adding juice to your daily routine will help keep you healthy and energized.

That being said, we do not recommend replacing food with juice all together! However, if you are looking to give your body a reset, detoxify and create new healthy habits, you might want to try one of our juice cleanses.

We recommend that individuals with diabetes to be cautious when drinking juices high in natural sugars because these sugars can cause blood glucose levels to rise. Our juices with a heavier vegetable base would be a better choice in this instance. If you are unsure about whether you can consume cold-pressed juice or not, please consult with your physician first.

Drinking juice is the easiest and quickest way to increase your consumption of raw fruits and vegetables. Most of our modern diet consists of processed foods that are devoid of any nutrient value. This often results in high incidence rates of disease, poor nutrition, and obesity. Drinking raw, cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juice is a more natural alternative to taking supplements and vitamins because the vitamins, nutrients and enzymes in the juice are easily absorbed into our system.

So much of our vital energy goes towards digesting food. When we juice fruit and vegetables, we do the work for you (removing the indigestible fiber), allowing the nutrients and vitamins to flood your bloodstream within 15 minutes of drinking the juice. This allows your digestive system some much needed rest from constantly digesting food - allowing your body to put that energy towards healing.

Perhaps surprisingly, many fruits and vegetables contain protein. Some of our favourite protein rich vegetables that are in our juices are: kale, carrots, and parsley. Our nut mylks are also a great source of protein. If you are at all worried about getting enough protein, we recommend adding some collagen to your next juice.

Because our juice is cold-pressed, most of the fibre content is removed during the juice extraction. However, by removing the indigestible fibre, your body is able to absorb the nutrients more effectively and efficiently. We encourage you to maintain a balanced diet by enjoying fibre rich smoothies, salads or snacks.
